Carl Anthony Patterson, 72, passed away on Sunday, February 19, 2012 at his home in Santa Cruz, CA. He was born on January 14, 1940 in Fremont, CA to Eric and Beverly (Long) Patterson.

Carl grew up in Fremont, CA. He graduated from Fremont High School in Fremont in 1957. After high school he attended university at the University of California in Santa Cruz, CA where he received a degree in Marketing. He then began work for a national ad agency where he worked for 40 years.

Carl married Judith in 1976 in Santa Cruz, CA. They were happily married for 36 years.

Carl was a member of St. Andrew’s United Church and was very involved with the Big Brothers and Sisters in Santa Cruz. He enjoyed sailing, watching TV, playing football and spending time with his family. He also received an achievement award for his 20+ years of volunteer work with the Big Brothers and Sisters of Santa Cruz.

Carl was preceded in death by his parents Eric and Beverly Patterson; his brothers Larry and Ryan; his sister Cathy; and his son Jake (Joannne) Patterson.

Carl is survived by his spouse Judith of Medford, CA; his son Steve (Ann) Patterson of Portland, OR; his daughter Kate (Jerry) Ross of Santa Cruz, CA; his grandchildren Kelsey, Craig and Larry, his great-grandchild Candice; and his loving nieces, nephews and numerous other relatives.

A memorial service will be held at Richardson and Sons Funeral Home, 9559 17th Ave SE, Santa Cruz, CA at 11:30 am on February 21, 2012. A visitation will be held at the Funeral Home’s Chapel at 5:30 – 8:30 pm on February 20, 2012. The family will be greeting friends and relatives at 2:00 – 5:00 pm. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery, 599 West 12th Ave, Santa Cruz, CA at 3:30 pm on February 12, 2012.

Pauline ‘Paula’ Ellen Tucker, 82, entered into eternal peace on Wednesday, February 8, 2012, at the Rochester County Hospice and Palliative Care Center.

Paula was born on January 23, 1930, a daughter of the late Ernest and Linda Jordan. She graduated from Rochester High School in 1947 and worked for a major department store chain as clothing buyer for 10 years. She married the late Roy Tucker in August 1955 and together they owned the Tucker Boutique in Rochester, New York. They worked besides each other for more than 40 years. Paula was a lifelong communicant of St. Anthony’s Church and a member and active fundraiser for the American Heart Association. Paula was a very kind and gentle soul; she had a loving and generous heart, and was always giving to others.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 40 years, Roy Tucker in 1995; her devoted son, William M. Tucker in 2010; siblings, Candice Jones, Jackie Williams and Craig Tucker.

She leaves her loving memories to be cherished by her; loving sisters, Sherry N. Saunders of New York, New York and Edith Hall, of Buffalo, New York; adorning nieces, Lexi and her husband Martin Stevens, Janet and her husband Jordan Cruz; Janine and the late Dorothy Fisher; sister-in-law Amanda Reynolds.

Services will be held Wednesday morning at 11:30 am at the Porter and Freeman Funeral Home, Rochester, New York at 235 E 21st Street, then to St. Anthony’s Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 pm. Entombment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery. Friends and relatives are invited and may call at the Porter and Freeman Funeral Home on Tuesday from 3:00 to 6:00 pm and Wednesday from 9:00 to 11:30 am.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Anthony’s Church, 5355 West 41st Avenue, Rochester, New York 00000; or the American Heart Association, PO Box 5355, 34th NE Ave, Washington, DC 55555.
