MICHAEL HENDERSON, 82
Michael “Mike” William Henderson, 82, of Portland, Oregon, passed away on May 1, 2012, in his sleep.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, May 3, 2012 at Jones and Smith Funeral Home. Reverend Jack Jenkins of St. Anthony’s United Church will be officiating. Visitation will be held at 4:00pm on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at Jones and Smith Funeral Home. Burial will follow the funeral at Mountain View Cemetery at 3:00pm. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Jones and Smith Funeral Home.
Michael was born in Eugene, Oregon on February 12, 1930. He graduated from Eugene High School in 1947 and continued on to receive a Bachelor of Business Degree from the University of Portland.
Michael was married to Mary (Jones) on July 30, 1955; they were married 67 years.
Michael worked as a VP of Product Development for Nature’s Best Soaps for 35 years. He enjoyed fishing, motorcycles, baseball, reading, movies and spending time with his family. He was also actively involved in the Rotary Club of Portland, Oregon.
Michael is survived by his spouse Mary; two daughters Jennifer (Matt) Carlson, and Allison (Mark) Jones; grandchildren Martin Carlson, Jane Jones, and Alexis Jones, and other family and friends.
Michael is preceded in death by his parents Harold and Juliette Henderson, and his brother, Frank (Mary Beth) Henderson.
