Sample Eulogy For A Sister

My family and I are happy to see so many friends and relatives here today. Your love and support means so much to us. If Jackie were here today she would be incredibly appreciative that so many of you are here to pay your respects. For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Amy and I am Jackie’s younger sister.

Jackie and I were incredibly close all of our lives. We are only a few years apart in age and growing up shared a lot of the same friends. I was so blessed to have a sister and especially one that was as wonderful as Jackie. We rarely argued or disagreed about anything. We shared a lot of the same interests growing up. We were both very athletic and played volleyball in high school and university. We pushed each other to be our best and spent a lot of time training together. The emotional support of my sister really helped me excel at sports.

My sister accomplished a lot of things throughout her life. She was very studious and was on the honor role in high school. She was also captain of the volleyball team and volunteered her time coaching younger athletes at nights and on weekends. She got a scholarship in athletics to university and graduated from UCLA with a teaching degree.  She loved children and was an excellent teacher. She was so passionate about teaching and went above and beyond her job duties. The students loved her and appreciated all of the effort she put in to her job. She coached two teams that won the national senior high school volleyball championships twice, the first two times that her high school had ever won.

Jackie met her husband Mark through coaching volleyball. They shared the same passions and were meant to be together. They had two beautiful children and a wonderful marriage. I love her children like my own and will do whatever I can to help raise them. I will also make sure that they always know what a wonderful woman there mother was.

My sister was such a bright, hard-working, passionate woman who cared immensely for everyone around her. She dedicated her life to others and positively touched so many lives.
